Private exercise referral service can be a powerful tool for managing and improving various medical conditions. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise program, especially if you have underlying health conditions.
Here are some common conditions that can benefit from tailored exercise programs:
Cardiovascular Conditions
High blood pressure: Regular exercise can help control blood pressure, often reducing the need for medication.
Heart failure: A well-designed exercise program can improve heart function and reduce symptoms.
High cholesterol: You can lower cholesterol in a holistic way through exercise and nutrition. High cholesterol is a serious risk factor for developing more serious heart conditions.
Cardiac rehabilitation (Post-event)
If you have experienced a cardiac event such as a heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, TIA, or if you have valvular disease, you most likely received cardiac rehabilitation services within a clinical cardiac team in the hospital (in the UK, this is referred to as phase 3). I provide support for phase 4 rehabilitation, which is a lifelong plan to assist in maintaining your exercise routine once you start exercising outside the hospital setting. I am trained by the British Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) and I am a registered member with them. I can offer safe and effective support to help you maintain a healthy heart.
Metabolic Conditions
Diabetes: Exercise can help regulate blood sugar levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and reduce the risk of complications.
Pre-diabetes: You may have heard from your doctor or nurse that you have a risk of developing type 2 diabetes. You can reverse this process with exercise, nutrition, and changes to your lifestyle.
Obesity (BMI up to 35): Physical activity can aid in weight loss and management.
Musculoskeletal Conditions
Osteoarthritis: Exercise can help reduce joint pain, improve mobility, and strengthen surrounding muscles.
Osteoporosis: Weight-bearing exercises can help increase bone density and reduce the risk of fractures.
Back pain: A tailored exercise program can strengthen core muscles and improve posture, reducing back pain.
Joint replacements: Once you finish your rehabilitation with physiotherapists, I’m happy to support your further exercise needs.
Pulmonary
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): Exercise can improve lung function and reduce symptoms.
Asthma: Regular physical activity can help manage asthma symptoms and improve overall lung health.
Long COVID: Many people struggle to come back to normality after having severe COVID. I’m here to help you overcome fatigue and shortness of breath.
Autoimmune and Immunology
I specialize in supporting clients with autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and IBD (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).
I also provide assistance to clients who have been diagnosed with cancer, whether they are preparing for treatment (prehab) or aiming to regain their previous level of fitness after treatment (rehab).
