Food of the week: Quinoa

Are you bored with brown rice, sweet potatoes and couscous or maybe you want to give up heavy carbs like pasta? Quinoa may be good choice for you. It’s couscous-like grains, easy to cook. What is amazing about it? It’s a complex carb, so fuel provided by it last for longer also it’s very good source of proteins. Yes, that’s right and yes it means it will fill you up for longer and it’s helpful in building muscle mass and fat loss.

It’s suitable with most of diets: carb cycling, paleo, vegan, vegetarian, moderate carbs etc. Not really good in ketogenic diet, but you may have quinoa during cheat day as a metabolism booster.

You can eat it as a side to your main meal, add it to salad, eat it on its own as snack and many more.

You will find quinoa in almost every store next to couscous, lentils or rice.
